The Monica Ashton Production Company

Monica Ashton, founder of the Monica Ashton Production Company, is an LA and SF-based Producer/Composer/Pianist. You can read all about her, her band members, and her company at http://www.monicaashtonproductions.net. You can contact her office at 213-613-1149 or monicaashton@yahoo.com.

The Production Co. was created in August 2007, 2 months before The Monica Ashton Jazz Band CD was released in October 2007. The CD was recorded at the famed Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, California in December 2006, mixed at Skywalker Sound in February 2007 and Mastered at Capitol Records in August 2007. Since its release, the CD has been selling worldwide, but most notably in Europe.  As a result, the Band is seriously considering touring Europe next.

In addition to the CD and Jazz Band, the Production Co. has produced events in Los Angeles including securing a booth and performing at the E4 Video Game Convention at the LA Convention Center, October 2007; a Promotional Tour for the Band with Patrick Fleming, LA to SF, August 2008; Appearance by the Monica Ashton Jazz Band at SoHo in Santa Barbara, CA, featuring Sinclair Lott on drums, October 2008, the Cyril Paul Scholarship Fundraiser, November 2008, Marina Del Rey, CA; Banjos & Bugles, a Civil War Docudrama Musical Demo Recording Session, February 2010, Pasadena, CA, St. Agatha’s Catholic Gospel Choir CD (their 3rd, 2010-11), Mid-Wilshire, LA; and Jerrie Fouchard’s (cabaret singer) remixed CD (originally recorded on cassette tape in the ’80s), 2011, Santa Monica, CA. These are just some of the projects the company has been working on, in addition to having several Production Meetings in San Francisco and Los Angeles since its inception.

In addition to the Production Co., Ms. Ashton has been busy writing new material, including a Musical about NY after the Civil War with David Secter, which we hope will be staged in New York, commissioned concert pieces by instrumentalists in NY and Australia, collaborated works for her second CD with artists she has met in LA; she’s finishing a Greek Orthodox LIturgy; a commissioned Christmas piece for a website based out of NY; she is the music director for a web series/tv pilot written by Jacqi Bowe, and is currently learning the film composition software Logic. She is also a featured artist as a pianist at The Spot with Marcie and Eddie Ed O’Brien in Culver City, with the Karen Hart Project at the Renaissance Hotel, Hollywood, CA, has been an accompanist at the Culver Hotel Lobby, and recently performed some of her own works at the Firefly Bistro in South Pasadena, CA.

Online, in addition to the Production Co.’s website, (www.monicaashtonproductions.net), Ms. Ashton also has a website dedicated to the jazz band and solo performances, http://www.monicaashton.com, videos at http://www.youtube.com/monicaashton, and her CD is selling on CDBaby, ITunes, Rhapsody, Amazon and other music sites. She is in the process of updating and upgrading her current online marketing tools, and is seriously considering creating her own “App”. So, look for some significant changes in the near future..like this new “blog”.

The Monica Ashton Production Company is looking forward to expanding its reach this year and is excited to be discussing the possibility of merging with other like-minded artists and entrepreneurs based in San Francisco and Los Angeles, to create one entity which would include production, a label, distribution, publicity and marketing all under one roof….

To Be Continued…..

  1. You have been a musician since the age of 4, you’ve played now in Europe and North America and you can’t call yourself a celebrity musician. Monica, you are a celebrity not Kim Kardashian! It’s called talent baby and you’ve got it. Knock ’em dead with your keyboard in Soho Ashton!
